The nominees for the 6th Annual South African Hip Hop Awards have now been announced. As expected many of the high flyers such as Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Kwesta, Stogie T, OkMalumKoolKat, Da L.E.S and others are all in the running for several gongs and awards

Tickets are already on sale for the event at Computicket with Hip Hop Politics being the theme of this year’s SAHHA. The organisers also released a Press Release to announce the list of nominees.
Press Release – SA Hip Hop Awards 2017 announce SABC partnership & New Hosts The 6th Annual South African Hip Hop Awards 2017 is proud to announce SABC 1 as the new TV broadcast partner, an addition spreading the reach of the awards to millions of South Africans; but also aligning the awards to SABC 1’s proposition of being more than TV but youth culture. Also introducing the electrifying comedian Nina Hastie as our main host of the show with our second host to be announced in our build up to the main show. With these new developments, the event proceedings promise to be more entertaining, informative and engaging for the Hip Hop masses that will be in attendance. The event will be taking place on Wednesday, 13th December at The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, where great achievements within the local hip hop culture will be celebrated. The theme this year is “Hip Hop Politics”.
